Our Story

Julian Sammy - Director

Julian is an experienced international shipping and supply chain specialist with a passion for optimising global logistics operations. With over 13 years of industry experience, Julian has a deep understanding of the complexities involved in transporting goods across borders and has a proven track record of driving efficiency and cost savings.

After joining a New Zealand-owned freight forwarder straight out of university, Julian went on to work for both Australian-owned and multinational forwarders. In 2015, he stepped away from the industry and into a purchasing and procurement role at Mitre 10 (one of New Zealand's largest home improvement and garden retailers) before moving on to become the Logistics Manager for Mighty Ape (one of New Zealand’s largest e-commerce retailers), where he managed the inbound and outbound, domestic and international freight. During his time there, he not only grappled with the disruptions caused by the pandemic (while Mighty Ape achieved record sales figures as online purchases sky rocketed during lockdowns), he also set up and managed their third party logistics (3PL) warehouse operations across the country, 

In late 2022, Julian decided to make a change and start his own company - Norical Logistics - with the aim to build lasting relationships with small-to-medium sized businesses wanting to optimise their supply chains. With Julian's knowledge and connections, our customers are sure to benefit from his ability to provide innovative end-to-end logistics solutions, ensuring the delivery of goods efficiently and reliably.
